SPYWARE / ADWARE I need HELP!!
“My computer is so slow!”
Our response to you is you likely have Spy ware / Ad ware on your system.
While you go about your usual internet browsing information is being requested
and transferred behind your back.
Spy ware and Ad ware are the biggest intrusions after Spam. Lots of companies
are jumping on the bandwagon, and want to know your browsing habits, personal
information or to throw pop up advertising at you.
I didn’t ask for it… I don’t want it…
The problem is you have no choice, companies are allowed to do this without
your consent. How many times have you been bombarded with pop up windows
with adverts, this can be caused by spy ware. They track your browsing habits,
and depending on the sites you visit, throw the pop up's at you.
One problem with pop up adverts is that they can unexpectently appear
and contain unsuitable material for children. Some can be offensive
or filthy, or entice you into clicking it. At the very least they
are annoying.
Prevention:
Read the EULA “End User License Agreement”, Terms of Agreement,
etc.. In the small print you are often authorizing the installation of software
for advertising, or for collecting information.
FREE? If it’s cute and it’s FREE…. Is it really? Many
of the cute, free downloads in the form of cursors, screen savers and background
pages are there to entice you into downloading and installing them. You then
become the recipient of the Adware / Spyware programs packaged with the download.
